SHOP & DISCOVER LOCAL ON
SUDBURY'S VIRTUAL HIGH STREET
Why shop locally?
Locally owned independent retailers are the backbone of our community; they provide a friendly, tailored service, local jobs, they often support community and charity initiatives and support other local producers, makers and retailers. This all boosts our local economy, community cohesion and reduces your carbon footprint. Research has shown that for every £10 you spend with an independent local business, £50 goes back into the local economy.
Recent research has also found that as a result of the COVID-19 crisis over 50% of UK consumers are now doing the majority of their shopping with local businesses and discovering the many benefits of doing so! Lets hope you stick with them in the long run...
about sudbury's virtual high street
Sudbury's Virtual High Street was created by Sudbury Town Council in April 2020 to support local businesses during the COVID-19 crisis. The Virtual High Street was designed as a one stop resource to help residents stay connected with Sudbury's businesses during national lockdowns and local restrictions. Sudbury's businesses reacted quickly and creatively the COVID-19 crisis, from independent boutiques hosting live online sales, to pubs, cafes and restaurants offering delicious takeaway services, to specialist retailers hosting virtual markets and selling some unique gifts online, its never been easier to discover fantastic local businesses right on your doorstep on Sudbury's Virtual High Street.
