SUDBURY MARKET COVID-19 UPDATES
Sudbury Market has continued to trade within Government restrictions throughout the COVID-19 crisis, providing our community and visitors with a safe, outdoor local shopping environment.
During National Lockdown restrictions we will continue to operate Sudbury Market but only with our traders defined as essential retailers (a guide can be found here). We continue to ensure stalls are spaced to enable social distancing and we ask that where possible you shop alone. One-way barriers and distancing signage are also in place and we ask that you please observe these measures for your safety and the safety of others. Remember Hands. Face. Space. Please protect yourself and each other.
thank you for shopping local
On behalf of Sudbury Market traders and all of our independent businesses in town we would like to thank everyone for shopping local and supporting Sudbury's businesses at this difficult time, your support is vital. Take a look at Sudbury's Virtual High Street to discover and shop local from home.

Did you know?
Sudbury’s market is more than 1000 years old, mentioned in a charter dating back to 1009. The earliest reference to the town was in 799AD when Aelfhun, Bishop of Dunwich died here. When you visit Sudbury Market you're unlikely to miss a statue honouring Thomas Gainsborough, one of Britain’s most famous artists who was born in Sudbury in 1727. Princess Louise, Queen Victoria’s daughter, first unveiled the statue on 10 June 1913, just outside St Peter’s Church, now a bustling cultural venue hosting a year round calendar of markets, community events and concerts to compliment our outdoor market. The bustling Sudbury Farmers' market can be found here on the last Friday of every month.
